The Westchester County Detectives Association, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation under the laws of New York State. Formed in 1960 by a small group of professional law enforcement officers in the County with a vision of establishing a fraternal, charitable, body the Association today is comprised of approximately 300 members representing fifty-five federal, state, county and local investigators. The purpose of the Association is to faithfully serve God and Country; to unite in the bonds of friendship and mutual cooperation; to establish and retain an active group with mutual interests in the field of professional law enforcement; and to furnish all possible assistance to any member requiring the same. Membership is open to any duly appointed and sworn Peace or Police Officer as defined in the Criminal Procedure Law of the State of New York or duly appointed Federal Law Enforcement Officer as defined in the United States Code. Membership is restricted within those codifications to officers assigned to an investigative unit within their agency. The Association is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of seven Elected Officers and fourteen Trustees. The Association meets on the second Thursday of each month (except July and August). Meetings are constructive and guest speakers make presentations on topics in a “continuing education” effort. As President of the Association, I am honored to represent the members and to lead the Board in fulfilling its responsibilities to its individual members; to the membership as a whole; to the profession; and to the public. This website is another step towards providing the membership with services to assist them in their daily work and to keep them abreast of what is happening within the Association. I hope that, as it evolves to meet the needs of the members, it will be a resource that is useful, informative and comprehensive.
